This museum not only has a permanent exhibition but also a rotating one where it presents different examples of nativity scenes created by different artists.

Wine Museum





This museum is a celebration of wine and its importance in the history of the region's growth. Alenquer is the area with the greatest emphasis on winemaking in the Lisbon Region. In the municipality, the vineyard area is more than 8,000 hectares.

The interior renovation of this museum was completed at the end of 2018 and it reopened to the public in February 2019.

Museum of Damião de Góis and the Victims of the Inquisition





This building is located next to the Castle wall and presents a notable exhibition on the life and work of Damião de Góis, a Portuguese historian who profoundly marked the renaissance in Portugal, highlighting his condition as a victim of the Inquisition.

Opened on May 20, 2017, its creation is part of the project “Rotas de Séfarad: valorization of Portuguese Jewish identity in intercultural dialogue” - Network of Jewish Quarters of Portugal, Portuguese State/Regional Directorate of Culture of the Center and Government of Norway .

The story also relates the Jews directly to the ancient Church of Várzea.

Museum João Mário





João Mário Ayres d'Oliveira was a Portuguese painter of great national and international success, dedicated to oil painting.
This museum opened in 1992 and has five distinct wings.
The Museum also hosts temporary exhibitions by other painters.

As part of the “Meeting on a Sunday Afternoon” program, on the first Sunday of each month, the museum auditorium organizes meetings in the most diverse areas, promoting the discussion of the topics presented by the guest speakers.

Palmira Bastos Memoir





The building was rebuilt by the old Parish Council of Aldeia Gavinha and is where Palmira Bastos was born.

The family and the Teatro Nacional Dona Maria II donated private pieces such as clothing and several photographs.

House-Museum opened in 2000.
